How to Use Manual
This manual is written for basic operation of the backgauge (X-axis) and ram control (Y-axis). Special options such as I/O interface, R-axis Gauge Bar Height, and Frontgauges are addressed in supplements found at the end of this manual.
System Description
The CNC 1000 has a 1000 station capacity. Parameters that can be entered at each station include ram cycles, gauge retract, flange length, bend allowance, and bend angle. It allows for multiple part storage up to 1000 stations.
Display Functions
The control panel display shows finished flange dimension or true gauge position. The ram display can show continuous ram depth, peak depth, angle formed, or angle programmed.
One Axis Operation
- Turn on the unit and select inch or millimeter mode.
- Calibrate by setting a reference position.
- Program the backgauge position and bend parameters.
- Use the manual or auto mode to cycle through the bends.
Two Axis Operation
- Same process as one-axis operation but includes ram depth control.
- Can be programmed in either Depth Mode or Angle Mode.
- Calibration and setup procedures ensure accurate bending.
Correction to Dimensions (Backgauge/Ram)
During setup or operation, adjustments can be made:
- To correct flange, enter the correction amount and press “=”.
- To correct angle/depth, enter new depth and press “ADV”.
Memory Use
- CNC 1000 has 998 memory locations for storing repeat jobs.
- Recommended to leave stations 000 to 010 open for miscellaneous jobs.
- Jobs can be recalled easily from memory for repeat production.
Help & Failure Codes
Common failure codes include:
- FAIL 00 – Backgauge timed out
- FAIL 15 – Angle gauge inoperative
- HELP 21 – Backgauge on stop switch
Shock Mount Operation
- Leave bolts loose for normal operation.
- To disable, tighten bolts and leave shaft collar loose.
Change Display Modes
- Operators can choose from multiple display settings.
- Factory preset to show true backgauge flange position and ram depth.
- Settings can be changed via internal dip switches.
Host Mode Switches
The CNC 1000 contains internal switch settings for:
- Scale factor changes
- Backgauge movement settings
- Angle mode activation
Scale Factors
To set a new scale factor:
- Press STA 999, enter the new scale factor, and press RESET.
- Adjust based on machine requirements.
Mounting Procedure
Installation steps:
- Mount the backgauge and control panel.
- Ensure cables are properly dressed and secured.
- Check alignment before power-on.
