Introduction
This guide explains the installation, configuration, and data exchange process for the IDEA PC bending software. Following these instructions ensures a smooth setup and integration with numerical controls (NC).
System Requirements
- Display Resolution: 1280×1024 pixels.
- Operating System: Windows 2000, XP, Vista, 7.
- Processor: Pentium 1 GHz or higher.
- RAM: Minimum 512MB.
- USB port required for software activation.
Installation Sequence
- Run SetUp.exe to install IDEA PC.
- Use the USB License Key or email info@stepautomation.it with the “Request Code” to receive an activation code.
- Enter the activation code in the required field.
- Load the machine data file from USB.
Supported Languages
- English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Turkish, Polish, Dutch, Russian, Czech, Portuguese (Brazil), Finnish, Japanese, and Chinese.
Machine Data Loading
- Launch the IDEA PC Recovery tool.
- Click READ and select MACHINE.
- Choose the machine data file (*.MAC) from USB.
- Execute PARAMETERS VALIDATE if required.
- Click REGENERATE DB to update the database.
NC-IDEA PC Connection
- Connect both NC and PC to the local network (LAN) using standard cables.
- If using a direct NC-PC connection, use a crossover LAN cable.
- For LAN with DHCP:
- Set NC to AUTOMATIC IP: YES.
- If TCP/IP errors occur, reset the LAN settings and retry.
- For LAN without DHCP:
- Set AUTOMATIC IP: NO and enter manual IP settings.
- Ensure IP, subnet mask, and gateway match the network configuration.
- Use the PING command in Windows to verify the NC connection.
Firewall Settings
- The Windows Firewall may block communication between IDEA PC and NC.
- If connection issues occur, temporarily disable the firewall.
- Ensure firewall settings allow IDEA PC to communicate through the network.
Data Exchange Between IDEA PC and NC
- Go to the ARCHIVE page in IDEA PC.
- Click on ROOT:\USER and select NUMERIC CONTROL to establish a connection.
- Transfer machine data between NC and IDEA PC as required.
- If errors occur, check LAN settings or disable the firewall.
