System Description

The Ermak Towermak automatic loading and unloading system integrates sheet handling with laser cutting operations. It allows fully automated material transfer to enhance efficiency and reduce manual handling.

System Layout

  • Includes 3-shelf pallet storage and automated elevator system.
  • Integrated with laser cutting machines for automatic material supply.
  • Allows storage of raw and processed sheets.

System Startup

  • Ensure all emergency stop buttons are released.
  • Check compressed air pressure (minimum 6 bars).
  • Turn on the main power switch on the control panel.
  • Reset safety barriers using the designated blue pushbutton.
  • Check the system diagnostic screen for errors and alarms.

System Shutdown

  • Wait until all automatic cycles are completed.
  • Switch the system to manual mode using the key selector.
  • Turn off the system using the main power switch.
  • Cut off the compressed air supply.

Control Mode Selection

  • Manual Mode: Allows individual operation of system components.
  • Automatic Mode: Fully automated material transfer based on laser machine requests.

Axis Z Zeroing Procedure

  • Performed during initial installation by trained technicians.
  • Ensures accurate positioning for material handling.
  • Failure to complete zeroing will limit system operations.

Service Mode Selection

  • Local Mode: Allows manual sheet loading and storage functions.
  • Remote Mode: System follows laser machine requests automatically.

System Working Areas & Access Restriction

  • Safety photoelectric barriers prevent unauthorized entry.
  • Emergency stops disable all motorized operations.
  • Restricted access areas include operator stations and service zones.

Startup Screen & System Navigation

  • Displays current system status and operation mode.

Store Functions Menu

  • Includes store loading and unloading options.
  • Allows pallet status monitoring and material type entry.
  • Provides real-time tracking of stored raw and processed sheets.

Store Loading Procedures

  • Requires an available empty slot in storage.
  • System verifies proper sheet stack height and weight.
  • Loading function moves sheets from operator station to storage.

Store Unloading Procedures

  • Operator can select empty or processed sheet pallets for unloading.
  • System moves selected pallet to operator station for removal.
  • Includes options for unloading by material type or specific slot number.

Manual Controls & Diagnostics

  • Allows operator to move elevator, sheet handlers, and suction cups manually.
  • Enables troubleshooting of material handling issues.
  • Provides diagnostic access for system performance checks.
