Description
The Challenger DXD is a heavy-duty dual-side drive cutting system designed for high-production plasma and oxy-fuel applications. Built on the proven Challenger platform, it features rugged construction and precision components for long-term reliability and increased productivity. Standard cutting capacity is 6′ x 12′ with expandable configurations available.
Equipped with the Hypertherm EDGE Connect CNC control, the system operates on a powerful Windows-based platform with a 19.5″ touchscreen interface for easy operation. Precision motion is achieved through a dual-side drive system with helical rack-and-pinion rail drives, flame-hardened T-rails, and high-speed linear bearings for smooth and accurate cutting.
The Challenger DXD includes Hypertherm Sensor THC torch height control for consistent cut quality and supports plasma systems up to 400 amps, including the Hypertherm XPR170, XPR300, and HPR400XD. With Hypertherm SureCut Technology—such as True Hole and Rapid Part—the system delivers excellent hole quality and improved productivity. The machine can also be configured with up to four oxy-fuel torches, capable of cutting material up to 12″ thick.
